Sobasei Chef's Recommendation!

Ms Suzy Tan wrote a review at HungryGoWhere.com last July 14, 2010.

When I saw the email promotion of Hamachi Kama, I made a point to find and try it out!

Sobasei Japanese Restaurant is located within Fairway Club of Palm Resort at Japanese Garden Road, Taman Jurong Estate. If you can remember the Tang Dynasty Village along AYE and Yuan Ching Road. Being here brings lots of nostalgic memories of my childhood.

Anyway, we arrive at about 8pm, carpark is FREE! ample space and the atmosphere was relaxing and no crowd at all.

The price is about $14 to $16 depending on the size of the fish.

Mr Hadi, the F&B Manager, as he introduced himself, came and attend to our order personally, we felt knowledged as he explained in detail with lots of enthusiasm on what is Hamachi Kama and how it will be prepared....

Hamachi is a Yellow Tail Tuna Fish and Kama is its chin. Most tender flesh part of the fish. It will be grilled with salt and served with rice and other condiments.

Not many restaurant serve this as this is considered the spare parts of the fish, only restaurant that freshly cut and sliced the whole fish themselves will have it for their guest.

The ambience kept us dinning till their closing time at 10pm. Service was friendly and diners were greeted as they arrived...traditionally Japanese.

Now that we know where to go for a nice quiet dinner, its going to be our frequent place to be.
Visit Sobasei Japanese Restaurant and experience the same mind-blowing goodness of our traditional Japanese dishes!

See you soon!
